Pokémon GO’s May 2025 Community Day spotlights Pawmi, the Electric-type Pokémon from the Paldea region. This event offers Trainers a prime opportunity to catch Pawmi, encounter its Shiny variant, and enjoy various in-game bonuses. Here’s everything you need to know to make the most of this electrifying event.

🗓️ Event Schedule

• Date: Sunday, May 11, 2025

• Time: 2:00 PM – 5:00 PM local time

During this three-hour window, Pawmi will appear more frequently in the wild, increasing your chances of catching a high-IV or Shiny Pawmi.

⚡ Event Bonuses

Trainers can take advantage of the following bonuses during the event:

• Increased Pawmi spawns: More Pawmi will appear in the wild.

• Shiny Pawmi debut: Enhanced chance to encounter Shiny Pawmi.

• 1/4 Egg Hatch Distance: Eggs placed in incubators during the event will hatch faster.

• 2× Catch Candy: Earn double Candy for catching Pokémon.

• 2× chance for Candy XL: Trainers level 31 and up have an increased chance to receive Candy XL from catches.

• 3-hour Incense and Lure Modules: Incense and Lure Modules activated during the event will last for three hours.

• One additional Special Trade: Make up to two Special Trades during the event.

• 50% less Stardust for trades: Trading Pokémon will require half the usual Stardust.

These bonuses provide an excellent opportunity to evolve and power up your Pokémon efficiently.

🔍 Field Research Tasks

During the event, spinning PokéStops may yield event-exclusive Field Research tasks. Completing these tasks can reward you with encounters with Pawmi, Stardust, Great Balls, Ultra Balls, and Pinap Berries. Some tasks may also offer Pawmi with a special Might and Mastery-themed background.

🧪 Special Research: “Pawmi & You”

For $2.00 (or equivalent in local currency), Trainers can access the “Pawmi & You” Special Research story, which includes:

• Step 1: Tasks like using Berries, catching Pokémon, and spinning PokéStops.

• Step 2: Catching a set number of Pokémon.

• Step 3: Sending Gifts, earning hearts with your buddy, transferring Pokémon, evolving Pokémon, powering up Pokémon, and earning XP.

Completing these tasks rewards Trainers with items like Incubators, Incense, Ultra Balls, Stardust, and encounters with Pawmi and its evolutions.

⏳ Timed Research: Special Background

Trainers who log in during the event will receive a Timed Research that lasts until Sunday, May 18, 2025, at 10:00 PM local time. This research involves catching a Pokémon each day for five days, rewarding you with XP, Stardust, and encounters with Pawmi that have a Might and Mastery-themed special background. Completing these tasks also increases your chances of encountering a Shiny Pawmi.

⚔️ Exclusive Move: Brick Break

Evolving Pawmo (Pawmi’s evolution) into Pawmot during the event or up to five hours afterward will result in a Pawmot that knows the Charged Attack Brick Break. This move has the following effects:

• Trainer Battles: 40 power and decreases the opponent’s Defense.

• Gyms and Raids: 40 power.

To evolve Pawmo into Pawmot, you must walk 1 km with Pawmo as your buddy during the event or until 10:00 PM local time on May 18, 2025.

• Use Pinap Berries: Maximize Candy gains when catching Pawmi.

• Prepare Incubators: Take advantage of the reduced hatch distance by incubating eggs during the event.

• Coordinate Trades: Plan Special Trades with friends to benefit from the reduced Stardust cost.

• Stay Active: Keep moving to encounter more Pawmi and complete research tasks efficiently.
