The jungle research facility of Zetsubou No Shima can feel overwhelming at first glance. Between mutated plants, toxic water, spiders, and complex setup steps, many players delay tackling its main quest. The good news? In Call of Duty: Black Ops III Zombies, Zetsubou No Shima’s Easter egg is mechanically forgiving—it just demands patience and preparation.

This updated 2026 guide provides a clear, step-by-step walkthrough of the Zetsubou No Shima main Easter egg, ensuring Primis secures Takeo’s soul and advances the storyline smoothly. Every required build, location, and boss fight tip is covered below.

Important: Equip the Anywhere But Here! GobbleGum before starting. It is mandatory for one of the later steps.

Step 1: Restore Power Across the Facility

At spawn, immediately pick up the water bucket on the ground. This item is essential throughout the map.

    • Open the path toward Lab A

    • Fill the bucket with blue water located just outside Lab A

    • Head upstairs in Lab A and pour the water into the generator to activate power

Next, refill your bucket and travel through the right-side jungle route to Lab B. Use water again to power the generator there. Once both labs are online, the bunker between them becomes accessible.

    Inside the bunker:

    • Clear the webbing on the underwater fan

    • Complete the 20-zombie lockdown

    • Retrieve the glowing component

    • Flip the main power switch

    Power is now fully restored.

Step 2: Build the Zombie Shield

The shield is critical for both defense and Easter egg progression.

    Shield Part Locations

    • Part 1 (Lab A): Near pillars, the Kuda wall-buy, or a zombie barrier

    • Part 2 (Lab B exterior): Found on tree stumps around the area

    • Part 3 (Anti-Aircraft Platform): Inside the structure near rocks, windows, or the Mystery Box

Craft the shield at either Lab A or Lab B. If it breaks, you can rebuild it for free.

Step 3: Construct the Gas Mask

The Gas Mask allows extended underwater exploration and immunity to spore clouds.

    Gas Mask Parts

    • Cable: Plane crash site near the Propeller Trap

    • Mask: Back of Lab B near irradiated water

    • Filter: Docks area beyond the Power Room

Build it at a lab workbench. Like the shield, it can be rebuilt if damaged.

Step 4: Obtain the Skull of Nan Sapwe

Return to spawn and interact with the skull altar. Four skulls must be cleansed at their matching ritual locations:

    • Spawn area

    • Propeller Trap room

    • Docks

    • Operations Room lower level

Defend each skull while it charges. Once all are returned, a hidden chamber opens beneath the altar. Defeat the hostile Keepers inside and claim the Skull of Nan Sapwe, a powerful utility weapon required later.

Step 5: Build the KT-4 Wonder Weapon

The KT-4 is mandatory for the Easter egg and extremely effective when charged.

    KT-4 Parts

    1. Spider Venom: Lure a spider into the Lab A cage during a spider round

    2. Green Vial: Dropped by a glowing green zombie in the Lab B area

    3. Plant Sample: Found in the underwater cave near Mule Kick

Craft the KT-4 in the Operations Room. Once built, it also enters the Mystery Box rotation.

    Step 6: Complete the Trials

Check the trial altar at spawn. Each player receives three randomized challenges, such as:

    • Killing spiders with spores

    • Using traps

    • Watering plants

    • Getting underwater kills

Solo players only complete their own set. Once finished, lightning periodically strikes the altar. Use your shield to absorb the lightning—it’s required for later steps.

Step 7: Upgrade KT-4 to the Masamune

Upgrading the KT-4 unlocks its true power.

    Upgrade Requirements

    • Rainbow Water: Acquired via sewer tunnel in the Operations Room

    • Hidden Plant: Revealed using the Skull of Nan Sapwe in an underwater cave

    • Blue Vial: Retrieved from an electrified cage in Lab B

    • Spider Fang: Earned by defeating the secret spider boss near Lab A

After collecting all components, upgrade the KT-4 at the ritual workbench to obtain the Masamune.

Step 8: Collect the Three Cogs

Cog 1 – Dragon Egg Room

Use Anywhere But Here! to teleport into the hidden egg chamber and collect the cog.

    Cog 2 – Zipline Drop

Electrify the zipline panel with your lightning shield. Drop off mid-zipline to grab the cog (solo timing is critical).

    Cog 3 – Anti-Aircraft Shell

    Grow special plants using:

    • Seeds

    • Blue Water

    • Masamune shots

Load the shell into the Anti-Aircraft gun and shoot down a plane. The final cog drops near key map locations.

    Step 9: Repair the Elevator

Inside the bunker, reveal the hidden wall using the Skull of Nan Sapwe. Insert all three cogs into the machinery and unlock the boss elevator.

    Prepare with:

    • Masamune

    • Shield

    • Gas Mask

    • Strong perks (Idle Eyes recommended)

Step 10: Defeat the Takeo Plant Monster

    In the boss arena:

    • Shoot glowing orange spores with the Masamune

    • Avoid the central chamber

    • Destroy all four glowing arms while managing Thrashers

Once the arms are destroyed, the final cutscene plays—Easter egg complete.

    Want to Skip the Grind?

Between plant RNG, trial challenges, and setup time, Zetsubou No Shima can be a commitment. Many players opt for Game Boosting at GladiatorBoost to clear Zombies Easter eggs efficiently, unlock storyline progress, or secure Super Easter Egg completion without repeated attempts. It’s a reliable option if you want results without hours of trial-and-error runs.

    Final Tips

    • Progress one full round after completion before quitting

    • Always carry the Skull and shield

    • Start plant growth early to save time

    • Don’t rush—Zetsubou rewards methodical play

With preparation and patience, this jungle nightmare becomes one of Black Ops 3 Zombies’ most satisfying victories.
