• Scout before lighting: Walk the path you’ll take and check for obstacles, slippery slopes, and ankle-deep water (which can extinguish torches if the flame sits low).

How to Read the Order (3 Common Layouts)

The puzzle there typically follows one of these patterns:

1. Ring Layout (Most Common)

   • A circle of 4–5 torches with a center marker or distinct “starting torch.”

   • Solution: Start at the “odd one out” (the torch that’s slightly higher, closer to a rock, or marked with a small carving), then go clockwise around the ring. If it fails, reset and try counterclockwise. End with any central torch last if one exists.

2. Spoke Layout (Starburst)

   • One torch sits slightly offset from the others, pointing toward the sea.

   • Solution: Light the offset torch first, then the two nearest on either side, sweeping inward toward the densest cluster. If the torches begin to expire mid-run, shorten your path by dashing across the center rather than hugging the perimeter.

3. Line or Crescent Layout (Shoreline Curve)

   • Torches arc along the shoreline or a rock ledge.

   • Solution: Start from the end nearest a landmark (cart, wrecked crate, or stone marker), then move along the curve to the far end. If a central pedestal exists, hit it last.

Reset tip: If a torch goes out, stop and wait for all to extinguish. Most puzzles reset quickly; relight in the opposite direction you tried before.

Step-by-Step Speed Route (Works for Most Rings)

1. Identify the start: Pick the torch with a visual cue (higher on a rock, beside a crate, or closest to a carving).

2. Plan a clockwise loop: Trace a tight circle you can sprint without detours.

3. Light & move: Ignite Torch 1, then immediately sprint to Torch 2, 3, 4…

4. Center last (if present): If there’s a middle brazier, leave it for the final ignition to complete the puzzle.

5. Claim reward: The chest spawns nearby; loot before Sheer Cold forces a retreat.

Micro-Optimizations

• Jump-cancel casts (catalysts/bows): Light, jump, move. This trims frames between torches.

• Stamina pacing: Short tap sprints in straight lines; don’t over-dash on icy slopes.

• Camera discipline: Keep the next torch in frame to avoid pathing hiccups.

• Water hazards: If any brazier sits near surf splash, ignite it second-to-last so waves don’t extinguish it mid-run.

Troubleshooting

• They keep going out: Your loop is too long. Reverse direction or choose a tighter route that cuts across the center.

• One torch won’t ignite: Make sure you’re using Pyro (not overloaded reactions that can knock you back into the water). If snow is visibly on the brazier, stand closer and apply a stronger Pyro hit.

• Chest didn’t spawn: A torch likely went out just before you lit the final one. Reset and try again; many puzzles have a short grace period but it’s safer to shave seconds off your path.
