This Diablo-themed crossover celebrates the dark fantasy of Sanctuary within Azeroth, bringing back Treasure Goblins with new mechanics, revamped rewards, and dynamic affixes that change the pace of each encounter.

Originally launched in 2023 to honor the release of Diablo IV, the event now expands its scope with spawn zones in Orgrimmar, Stormwind, Dornogal, and the newly-included Undermine, where additional portals open under specific conditions. Here’s everything you need to know to make the most of this event—including how to maximize rewards and which new features to prioritize.

1. Treasure Goblin Spawns and Portal Mechanics

Treasure Goblins now appear at the top of every hour in the three main faction capitals—Orgrimmar, Stormwind, and Dornogal. For high-end players, Undermine offers even more action:

• Defeating rare enemies or bosses in the Liberation of Undermine raid can randomly spawn Treasure Goblin portals.

• At 15 minutes past each hour, a Portal Storm may activate in Undermine, opening five simultaneous portals for an action-packed loot rush.

These expansions make Undermine the prime farming zone for hardcore players looking to grind goblins efficiently.

2. Treasure Goblin Affixes: Elixirs & Challenge Customization

New this year are Elixirs—items players toss into active portals to apply Diablo IV-themed affixes to the Treasure Goblins. These modifiers increase the challenge and, in return, enhance potential rewards.

Examples of Notable Elixirs:

• Rich Elixir: Spawns gold pools that increase movement and Haste.

• Arcane Elixir: Adds Arcane Overload zones for burst damage.

• Magma Elixir: Creates lava balls that fixate on enemies.

• Tempestuous Elixir: Pulls enemies in and knocks them back with Arcane Gust.

• Connected Elixir: Summons waves of Fallen enemies to spice up the chaos.

There are 15 total affixes, allowing you to mix and match difficulty and gameplay style. Higher risk equals higher reward.

3. Hellcaller Chests & Hellstone Shards

Treasure Goblins drop Hellcaller Chests, which contain:

• Valorstones

• Event-specific gear

• Hellstone Shards (used to purchase new transmog sets)

Your first 10 Hellcaller Chests each day are guaranteed to contain Hellstone Shards, making daily farming worthwhile.

These shards are redeemable at Hellhunter Baranar in Dornogal, where you can exchange them for recolors of the Tier 2 Anniversary Armor Sets—a nod to WoW’s nostalgic gearline with modern visuals.

4. Event Rewards: New & Returning

The Greedy Emissary event is full of flashy cosmetics and collector’s items, both new and returning. Here’s the breakdown:

• Blood-Wrapped Treasure Bag (Back Transmog)

• Hellfire Tier 2 Set Recolors (40 Shards Each)

• Wirt’s Leg (Weapon Transmog)

5. Collector’s Bounty Buff

Another key incentive is the Collector’s Bounty Buff, which passively increases transmog drop rates in pre-Dragonflight content. Notably:

• Rare legacy drops such as Invincible, Warglaives of Azzinoth, and Thori’dal are up to 10 times more likely to drop.

• One specific item (unspecified) now has a 25% increased drop rate.

Exclusions:

• Timewalking content

• Toys and pets
