How to Join the Mode

-
Open your phone in-game and head to the Playlists section.
-
Select Cayo Perico Series, then choose Zombie Survival to queue up.
-
Alternatively, go to the Pause Menu → Jobs → Rockstar Created → Survivals, and you’ll find the Cayo Perico Zombie Survival option.
What to Expect
-
Setting: You’re dropped onto Cayo Perico and must survive escalating waves of zombies.
-
Enemy Types: The undead include standard zombies, armored variants, explosive types, panthers, juggernauts, and even DJ zombies that force you to dance uncontrollably.
-
Waves & Zones: The mode takes you from the initial compound to multiple island zones (Main Dock, West Beach, North Dock).
-
Mobility: Occasionally, you’ll be placed into a vehicle mid-match to travel between zones while combating undead on the move.
-
Endgame Options: After several zones, you can choose to:
-
Escape via the airstrip (fly back to Los Santos and complete the run);
-
Or engage in Endless Waves mode at any unlocked location for extended survival.
-
Rewards & Bonuses
-
Completing the mode at least once awards the “I Survived Cayo Perico” t-shirt cosmetic.
-
During the launch event:
-
Completing all 10 waves grants The Buccaneer Outfit and GTA$100,000.
-
Double GTA$ and RP are granted for participation (quadrupled if you have GTA+).
-
Tips to Survive Longer
-
Move constantly & use cover. Zombies spawn aggressively—keep moving to avoid being pinned.
-
Weapon Strategy: Ideal loadout includes a shotgun (for close threats), an Assault Rifle (crowd control), and a Sniper (panther and distant threats).
-
Prioritize targets: Take out splitters and panther trainers first to avoid compounding spawns and surprise attacks.
-
Avoid trap waves: Wave 6 and 9 are notoriously brutal—rushing or closing them strategically helps push through.
-
Spawn glitch workaround: If you’re stuck spawning with no weapons, always join via the map blip or terminal, not via the menu, to ensure proper loadout access.
Community Stardom
-
Players report pushing as far as Wave 10+ with solid teams or solo persistence.
-
Systematic weapon selection and teamwork are vital—many failed runs were due to randoms spawning unarmed or poor zone control.
-
Using a minigun or shotgun against bosses like Juggernauts and explosive zombies has proven extremely effective.
