Pokémon GO’s Ultra Unlock: Origin Raid Day is set to be one of the most exciting events of the summer. Taking place on August 10, 2025, from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. local time, this six-hour window is your golden opportunity to catch Origin Forme Dialga and Origin Forme Palkia—two of Sinnoh’s most powerful Legendaries.

If you missed these monsters during the Sinnoh Tour in 2024, now’s your chance. With in-game bonuses, exclusive rewards, and the return of powerful signature moves, this event is not one you want to skip. Here’s everything you need to know to prepare for Origin Raid Day and come out on top.

    📅 Event Schedule & Bonuses (August 10, 2025)

    Origin Forme Raid Day Guide

From 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Origin Forme Dialga and Palkia will appear more frequently in five-star raids. Whether you’re raiding remotely or battling at gyms in person, there are plenty of benefits to enjoy.

    ✅ Free Event Bonuses:

    • 1.5x XP for every completed Raid Battle

    • Up to 20 Remote Raids (from August 9, 2:00 p.m. PDT to August 10, 8:00 p.m. PDT)

    • Increased Rare Candy XL drop rate for Trainers Level 31+ (in-person raids only)

    • +5 Free Raid Passes from spinning Gym Photo Discs (in addition to your daily free pass)

🎟️ Paid Event Ticket ($4.99 USD):

    • +8 additional Raid Passes (stacked with the other 5 and daily pass)

The ticket is only valid during event hours on August 10, so plan accordingly.

🛡️ Origin Forme Dialga & Palkia Raid Strategy

Both Dialga and Palkia appear in their Origin Forme, offering new move animations and stats. Here’s what you need to know before entering these legendary battles:

    🔥 Type Breakdown:

    • Origin Forme DialgaDragon/Steel

      • Weak to: Fighting, Ground

      • Resists: Grass, Water, Psychic, Bug, Steel, Flying, Normal, Rock, Electric

    • Origin Forme PalkiaDragon/Water

      • Weak to: Dragon, Fairy

      • Resists: Fire, Water, Steel

You’ll want to bring high-DPS counters with moves that exploit their weaknesses.

    ⚔️ Best Counters:

    Against Dialga:

    • Primal Groudon (Mud Shot + Precipice Blades)

    • Mega Garchomp (Mud Shot + Earth Power)

    • Shadow Excadrill (Mud-Slap + Drill Run)

    • Therian Landorus (Mud Shot + Earthquake)

    Against Palkia:

    • Mega Gardevoir (Charm + Dazzling Gleam)

    • Mega Salamence (Dragon Tail + Draco Meteor)

    • Shadow Palkia (Dragon Breath + Draco Meteor)

    • Crowned Sword Zacian (Snarl + Play Rough)

Forming a team of at least 3-4 strong Trainers is recommended to consistently win these raids without difficulty.

🌟 Can Origin Dialga & Palkia Be Shiny?

Yes, Shiny Origin Forme Dialga and Palkia will be available during the event. If you’re lucky, your post-raid catch screen may showcase a shiny version of these majestic Legendaries.

💥 Exclusive Moves: Roar of Time & Spacial Rend

One of the most exciting reasons to catch Dialga and Palkia during this Raid Day is their signature Charged Attacks:

    • Roar of Time (Dialga)

    • Spacial Rend (Palkia)

These aren’t just high-powered battle moves—they come with Adventure Effects that work outside of battles.

    🧭 Adventure Effects:

    Move Effect Cost Duration
Roar of Time Pauses active timers for Daily Incense, Star Pieces, Lucky Eggs, etc. 5000 Stardust + 5 Dialga Candy 6 minutes (up to 2 hours with more Candy/Stardust)
Spacial Rend Increases the range of wild Pokémon encounters 5000 Stardust + 5 Palkia Candy 10 minutes (extendable up to 2 hours)

Note: As of now, Elite Charged TMs cannot teach these moves, so catching during the event is the only way to get them.

🧠 Roar of Time vs. Spacial Rend: Which Is Better?

The answer depends on your playstyle:

    • Choose Roar of Time if you’re focused on XP, Stardust, and maximizing timed item use.

    • Go with Spacial Rend if you’re a catch-heavy player who often plays in limited spaces or urban environments.

Both offer huge utility, but Roar of Time edges out for long-term value if you grind frequently.
