From the Call of Duty franchise comes a thrilling new gaming experience. Today, we delve into the eagerly anticipated Zombies Mode in Modern Warfare 3. This guide will equip you with everything you need to know about the game mode; from release dates, gameplay, maps, to perks and more.
Table of Contents
1. Launch Date
Scheduled for a grand unveiling on November 10, 2023, the Zombies Mode in Modern Warfare 3 is a nostalgic nod to the good old days of zombie gaming. This mode will be accessible immediately after the full release of Modern Warfare 3.
2. Gameplay: Operation Deadbolt
The Zombies Mode, christened Operation Deadbolt, brings an exciting twist to the conventional round-based gameplay. It incorporates an Extraction based game loop, blending Dead Man’s Zone (DMZ) with Outbreak.
In this mode, you’ll fend off escalating waves of zombies at your own pace, with difficulty levels increasing based on your map location. The game offers two paths: slaying zombies for rewards or focusing on story missions. Do remember, Operation Deadbolt is exclusively PvE.
3. Session Duration
Unlike the brief 25-minute Warzone DMZ mode, each session in Operation Deadbolt lasts a full hour. The first 45 minutes allow for exploration and item collection. Once the timer hits zero, the Aether storm sets in, leaving you 15 minutes to extract safely.
4. Player Capacity
Up to 24 players, divided into 8 teams of 3, can engage in this mode. Teams can form alliances during gameplay, simplifying defense strategies. Beware of hostile human NPCs known as PMCs who can obstruct your exploration of specific areas.
5. Strike Team Operators
Players can recruit any unlocked Operator for their Strike Team. These Operators come equipped with their unique “On-Soldier” Gear. All Operators from both Modern Warfare II and Modern Warfare III are available, with two additional Operators unlocked after completing specific challenges within Zombies.
6. Difficulty Levels
Zombie health depends on the Zone, categorized as Low, Medium, and High threat. To enhance the challenge, there may even be a boss battle requiring the collaboration of all teams.
7. Main Objectives
The primary goal remains earning points by eliminating zombies. These points are crucial for weapon upgrades, especially for venturing into higher-tiered zones. Teams must work together to accomplish missions, gather essence (the main in-game currency), collect acquisitions, and extract.
8. Acquiring Essence
Teams can earn essence through various in-game activities such as contracts, killing zombies, and looting. This essence is then used to access helpful resources, which improve over time in a match, like Ammo Depots, Buy Stations, Pack-a-Punch machines, Perk machines, Wall Buys, and Mystery Boxes.
9. Acquisitions & Schematics
Acquisitions are single-use items that provide a combat advantage. Discovered and successfully carried Acquisitions can be added to your Acquisition Stash. You also have the option to create your own Acquisitions at the Schematic Crafting location in the Lobby.
10. Field Upgrades
Modern Warfare 3 Zombies introduces six Field Upgrades, each with unique effects. From spawning an explosive with the Energy Mine to becoming invisible to zombies with Aether Shroud, these upgrades add a strategic layer to the gameplay.
11. Perk-a-Colas
The perk system in Zombies mode differs from the gear-based perk system in the multiplayer mode. Instead of traditional benefits like Vests, Boots, Gloves, and Gears, this new system introduces consumable drinks, known as Perk-a-Colas, which provide permanent enhancements until complete death.
12. Rucksacks
Rucksacks can be filled with essential Acquisitions found on the battlefield or crafted through valuable Schematics. Initially, there are up to five open slots on the Small Rucksack. After completing the first mission and obtaining Acquisitions or Schematics, you have the option to add these items to the Rucksack.
This will be your go-to resource for all things related to the Modern Warfare 3 Zombies Mode. We hope this guide provides all the information you need to enjoy the game to its fullest. Happy gaming!
